Working with accomplished British metal band Architects, I collaborated to work on the graphic design surrounding this film that captured both their biggest UK show to date and the culmination of their first tour since losing a member of the band to cancer. We also captured footage from the band themselves describing the magnitude of the music they’d recently created.
Supporting a beautifully shot film with restrained typographic supers was the key in this project. The visuals themselves tell such a story, that it was key to underpin these with simple, clean graphics and supers, creating a look and feel that supported the importance of this milestone for the band.
Choosing a typeface that supported the modernity of the band, whilst retaining legibility across where these films were being watched was key.
Using a beautiful typeface from Omse, I created a look and feel with a supporting colour palette that complimented the visuals on screen.
The film was screened live in London and across the world via a paid link. It was critically acclaimed and received widespread press coverage that helped to grow the bands visibility worldwide.
